Young People Who Rock

We are certainly not the only people who focus on the great things young leaders are doing in their lives and in the community. Frankly, Gen-Y is a vocal group and they could do it on their own without the help of a retired Disney VP and a Social Media guy. The thing is, everyone wants to learn about Gen-Y, from their work habits, to their community involvement, to how they spend their money and free time.

Other media conglomerates are also getting in on the action and noticing the power that the Millennials will have over the course of their lifetime. CNN.com and CNN.com Live have a series entitled "Young People Who Rock,"
a weekly interview series focused on people under 30 - from CEO's to entertainers to community and political leaders - who are doing remarkable things.
Young People Who Rock | A Look into Gen-Y
CNN highlights these under 30 leaders with an online article and then again on CNN.com Live with a live interview performed by Nicole Lapin. About Nicole,

Nicole Lapin is a news anchor for CNN.com Live, the network's live, multi-stream video service. Lapin guides users through news reports, anchors "Now in the News," a fast-paced hourly Web- and wireless-exclusive news update, and provides briefings on CNN/U.S. and Headline News about the most popular stories on CNN.com.. She joined CNN in May 2006 and is based in the network's world headquarters in Atlanta.

This week she is profiling Julian Adler, a 13 year old who has started From My Hood to Your Hood. They collect sweatshirts and donate them to families who have lost everything.

It is great to see so many young people taking control of not only their own lives but of the lives of others in their community. This is the essence of a true leader. This also gives us confidence that Gen-Y will become the next great generation of leaders, and not just by default.
